Marriage contract
A marriage contract regulates exclusively property relations between spouses living together or in the future, and may also determine their property rights and responsibilities as parents.
A marriage contract can be concluded by persons who have submitted an application for marriage registration, as well as by spouses who are already married.
If the marriage contract is concluded before marriage registration, it enters into force on the day of marriage registration. If the marriage contract is concluded by the spouses, it enters into force on the day of its certification.
The marriage contract is concluded in writing (sample) with a mandatory notarized certificate (list of documents).

List of necessary documents for a marriage contract:
- Passport.
- Registration number of the taxpayer's account card.
- Marriage certificate (if the contract is concluded by spouses).
- A certificate issued by the civil registry office, confirming that the person has applied for marriage registration (if the person is not married).

Marriage contract. Essential terms.
In the marriage contract, you can:
- to establish the regime of joint, partial or private ownership of the property of the spouses, in particular, that which will be acquired in the future;
- to determine any conditions relating to property relations;
- order of property use;
- the right to maintenance;
- property that will belong to each of the spouses in the event of a divorce;
- the order of property division, in particular in case of divorce, etc.
The marriage contract cannot:
- to regulate the personal relations of the spouses;
- regulate personal non-property relations between them and children;
- reduce the scope of the child's rights;
- put one of the spouses in an extremely unfavorable financial situation;
- to transfer ownership of immovable property and other property to one of the spouses, the right to which is subject to state registration
A marriage contract can be terminated:
- by mutual consent of the spouses;
- by a court decision (if the interests of one of the spouses, children, disabled adult children require it);
Spouses can refuse the marriage contract.
In this case, at the choice of the spouses, the rights and obligations established by the marriage contract are terminated:
- from the moment of its conclusion;
- on the day of submission to the notary of the application for rejection of the marriage contract.
